1. Do you have programs for my child?
Yes! Story Times for infants and toddlers are scheduled throughout the year. Investigation Stations Activity Groups offer hands-on activities in a group setting. During our Summer Reading Program, kids of all ages who read—or are read to—can earn prizes, enter in prize drawings, and participate in special events. Children who continue to read during summer vacation perform better in the fall when school resumes. Join our e-mail list to be informed of upcoming events. 2. How old does my child have to be to get a library card?Children must be 4 years old to get a library card. 3. Do you have resources for homeschoolers?Our Parent/Teacher collection contains materials for use by adults who care for children. It features materials in various formats on topics such as child development, parenting, activities for children, homework help, and homeschooling.
4. What programs do you have for parents?Parents are active participants in the programs at the Olean Public Library. Programs specifically for parents include the statewide Growing a Reader program that assists parents in their role as their child’s first teacher, informational workshops on helping children use technology, and various special programs by experts in the fields of literacy, children’s literature and child development.
